Teaching & Private Lessons
Philip teaches music in a variety of environments including public school, clinics private instruction, concert & jazz band. Currently, he is the Jazz Director at Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, and has 20 years of experience as a private Brass instructor, and jazz improvisation teacher. He also cofounded the John Tirabasso Community Youth Jazz Ensemble.
As a private teacher Philip primarily teaches trumpet and Jazz improvisation. He has taught students of all ages and skill levels, with several of his trumpet students having gone on to successful careers as professional players in the Los Angeles area. Philip studied trumpet, with Ed Carroll, John Fumo, Wayne Bergeron, and performed in ensembles with Larry Koonse, Joe LaBarbara, and Alphonso Johnson.

Studied trumpet with Rick Winslow and Jazz with Vince Prudente.
Philip has also received instruction from some of the top trumpet players in the nation including Bobby Shew, John Thomas, and Clay Jenkins.
